A Girl Saved Her Little Brother from Choking (3 photos + 1 video)
Ten-year-old Leah was jumping on a trampoline with her seven-year-old brother, Logan, in the yard of their Texas home. The children started a dangerous game: they had to eat a sour candy before each jump. Suddenly, the boy stopped and began choking.
When Logan started choking on the candy, Leah first patted him on the back and then performed the Heimlich maneuver. The candy popped out, and he began breathing again.
Local police released the video and reported that the girl was taught rescue techniques by her mother and nanny.
"It wasn't easy for me to see this. As much as it hurts my heart, I'm proud of her," Heather James' mother told NBC News.

Heather works for the Lavon Police Department and teaches in the Special Programs Unit. Her courses include topics on the importance of choking rescue techniques.
"I'm so proud of my child," she said.

The mother was in the kitchen when the accident happened. Leah ran in and told him what had happened.
Heather added that her son vowed never to eat candy on the trampoline again.
