Audi's new compact electric car has been spotted undergoing road testing ahead of its planned debut in 2027. It will be the smallest electric crossover in the brand's history.

This compact electric crossover is designed to slot below the existing Q4 e-tron in Audi's lineup. The logical name option seems to be the Q2 e-tron, although some experts suggest the possibility of using the A2 name. Design features

The new Q2/A2 looks wider, lower and sportier compared to the old A2. The car has a more aggressive windshield slope and a roof line that drops sharply after the C-pillars. Rear and Technology

The rear of the car shows more details inspired by the original A2, with a spoiler that seems to divide the rear window. However, unlike the 2000s model, the novelty received a modern LED headlight line instead of vertically arranged lights. Technical specifications

While the larger Q4 e-tron uses the older MEB platform, the Q2/A2 is built on the latest MEB+ architecture, which involves placing a single electric motor at the front with front-wheel drive. Based on information about Volkswagen models on MEB+, such as the ID. Polo, a range of around 450 kilometers and a power of 223 horsepower are expected, which will allow acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds.

The development of this model reflects Audi's strategy to expand its electric portfolio towards more affordable market segments.
