In London, robbers broke into a store using a chainsaw
In the UK, police have arrested robbers who had been elusive for several years. The men were part of a gang responsible for more than 100 thefts and robberies.
Four members of the gang were caught on CCTV when they broke into a store using a chainsaw. They cut through the iron shutters that covered the supermarket and stole two million pounds. The thieves then fled the scene in stolen cars. The video of the burglary was released to journalists after the criminals were arrested.
It turned out that the men were part of a gang that police have been trying to catch since 2020. It is linked to more than 100 thefts and robberies. The gang members often broke into jewelry stores and electronics stores in front of onlookers. The police found out that they hid some of the stolen goods in churchyards.
The robbers were arrested in January 2025. Police ambushed them and caught them red-handed. One of the thieves was found to have a stash of silver cutlery worth around £80,000. All four were sentenced to prison.
