British Marine tests bulletproof helmet and dies (3 photos)
A former Royal Marine started an unusual "game" with a friend. Sean O'Donnell, 37, and Aaron Prout, 34, donned bulletproof Kevlar helmets and took turns shooting each other in the head with rifles in Houston, Texas.
Aaron was eventually killed and his friend was arrested.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Aaron was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.
He said: 'It's hard to believe two so-called friends would shoot each other with a rifle in a residential building.'
Aaron Prout
A relative of the deceased said Prout had served in the Royal Marines for 10 years before moving to Texas.
'Aaron's death has broken my heart. I have never received sadder news,' he wrote. 'Aaron was a thoughtful and supportive man, always willing to support his friends. He lived a colourful and full life. He had a successful career and started his own business. His passion was shooting, and he won many tournaments."
Sean O'Donnell
During the "game," the men wore Kevlar helmets, which are used by the military and police. They protect against shrapnel and bullets in combat, but are not always effective, especially against rifles.
O'Donnell has been charged with murder and is currently in the Harris County Jail.
