A fire helicopter crashed into a pond in France
This happened when he flew to a pond to collect water.
A Morane 29 helicopter crashed into a pond while fighting a fire in the French department of Finistère. The pilot and the fire officer safely got out of the cabin and survived, Le Parisien reported on August 24.
“While scooping up water, the helicopter came into contact with the surface of the water, which caused the machine to fall,” the Finistère prefecture reported.
The authorities specified that the crew returned to shore “safe and sound.”
“The professionalism, composure and courage of the pilot and the officer on board deserve high praise,” said Prefect Louis Le Franc, President of the department Maëlle de Calan and First Vice President of the SDIS Jean-Marc Puchois.
