Parents rescue son from kidnapper
In the US, a man tried to kidnap a six-year-old child on the street. The boy's parents noticed this and saved their son.
The incident occurred in the Coney Island area of New York on Sunday evening, July 6. In a video shot by an eyewitness, you can see a man in black clothes and a strange hat grabbing six-year-old Rashem Gant and trying to leave with him. His parents came running to their son's screams and threw themselves at the kidnapper. After that, the man threw the boy at their feet and tried to escape. "He probably thought that I wouldn't run after him if he left him. But I did," the child's mother, Sharon Robinson, said about how she rescued her son from the criminal.
In the end, she and her husband managed to catch up with the attacker and knock him to the ground. At the same time, the police, who arrived in time, first attacked the victim's parents and switched to the kidnapper after the intervention of witnesses. The criminal turned out to be 36-year-old Jonathan Robalino. The motives for his actions are unclear. He was charged with assault and attempted kidnapping.
The boy was taken to hospital and is in stable condition. Robinson said her son was in severe shock and cried the entire way to the clinic.
