Mercedes continues to step on the rake. AMG GT - Electric Hypercar Concept Unveiled (8 photos)
Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the futuristic Concept GT XX electric car, equipped with three axial-flow motors with a total output of 1,340 horsepower. Its maximum speed reaches 354 km/h, and the electric motors here are 67% lighter and more compact than traditional ones.
The reduced weight allows for three times the power density and twice the torque density. The motors are powered by a high-voltage battery with more than 3,000 NCMA (nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum) cylindrical cells. The energy capacity reaches 300 Wh/kg, and the peak charging power is 850 kW. This allows the car to quickly replenish its energy reserves.
Two motors are located in the rear unit with a planetary transmission and a silicon carbide inverter, and the third is installed in the front. At the same time, while driving, a sound imitation of a V8 is produced through the speakers in the headlights and a programmable brake light.
Thanks to the special design of the body and active aerodynamic wheels with "floating" blades, the drag coefficient is reduced to 0.198.
There is no information yet on plans for serial production of the Concept GT XX.
