Homemade roadster with a tank engine to be auctioned off (15 photos)

On July 25, the Mecum auction will start bidding for an original homemade roadster. It is built on the chassis of an International truck, and is powered by a V12 tank engine. The car has no body, it was built in a single copy.





The homemade product is based on the frame of an International 4700 truck, released in 1988. The suspension is on leaf springs (front transverse, rear longitudinal), disc brakes on all wheels, with a hydraulic drive. The body is completely missing, there is slightly more comfort than on a motorcycle. There is only a windshield, seats with seat belts and a power steering.

The most interesting part of the custom is the engine. A 29.3-liter V12 from the Patton tank is installed in the front. This is a gasoline engine with a capacity of 700 hp. It works in conjunction with a 6-speed Allison automatic. Rear-wheel drive. The speed characteristics of the homemade product are not specified. For obvious reasons, the auctioneers did not make a price forecast for such an exotic lot.
