Twitter maniac Takahiro Shiraishi executed in Japan (6 photos + 1 video)
Social networks have their own atmosphere, full of secrets and intrigue. It is easy to get lost among millions of messages, hide behind a nickname and become anyone. This is where the Japanese maniac Takahiro Shiraishi found his victims.
Shiraishi's profile looked harmless. A message on Twitter (now X), calling on the lonely and desperate to seek help, seemed like a sincere offer of support. But behind these words lurked a terrible reality.
"I want to help people who are really hurting. Please write to me anytime," the profile message read.
One evening, a girl named Haruko posted on a social network: "Looking for someone to die with me." A moment later, a response followed: "Let's die together."
Under the pretext of committing suicide together, Shiraishi lured the girl to his house, located in a quiet area of Tokyo. But Shiraishi had no intention of committing suicide together.
The scheme was outrageously simple. The maniac forced the girl to drink alcohol and take drugs. Then he raped her and brutally killed her. He dismembered her body and hid it in the refrigerator and drawers.
The same scheme resulted in 9 girls aged 15 to 26 becoming victims of the maniac. No one suspected that behind the facade of an ordinary Japanese house there was a real death factory.
Everything changed thanks to one random event. The brother of one of the last victims, Ishikawa, noticed something strange in his sister's behavior. She stopped answering calls and messages, although she used to be sociable and open.
Ishikawa decided to conduct his own investigation. While browsing his sister's social media accounts, he came across her last message: "Looking for someone who can die with me." To his horror, he saw a response from an unknown man: "Let's die together."
Using the information from the profile, Ishikawa found out the address and immediately notified the police. Investigators conducted a search and found the bodies of nine girls, each of whom was a victim of Shiraishi's insidious plan.
The case received wide publicity. The public was shocked by the brutality of the crimes. Shiraishi's trial became one of the most high-profile trials in Japan in recent years.
At the trial, the prosecutor's office demanded the highest measure of punishment - the death penalty. The lawyers tried to mitigate the sentence, arguing that the victims themselves wanted to commit suicide. However, Shiraishi's own testimony refuted this version.
During the trial, it became clear that the murders were committed intentionally and consciously. Shiraishi admitted his guilt and took full responsibility for what he did. In December 2020, the court sentenced him to death.
The sentence was carried out on June 27, 2025. This is the first death penalty in the country since 2022.
