French students created a sports car in the style of the Shelby Daytona from the 60s (5 photos)
It took just five months to create the unique Heritage ESX coupe.
The Espera Sbarro School of Automotive Design, which is located in Montbéliard, France, has released photos of the Heritage ESX sports car. This is a sort of diploma project - a car designed and built by a team of 25 students of the school. The source of inspiration for it was the classic Shelby Daytona coupe from the 1960s, and it took the developers five months to create the sports car.
The Heritage ESX retains the style and proportions of the original, sometimes exaggerated, and is endowed with a number of modern features. Among them, for example, are current aerodynamic solutions, new 19-inch wheels and LED lighting. It is noteworthy that the headlights, which fit into the overall style, were borrowed from the current Ford Puma crossover.
The interior of the sports car, like the classic Shelby Daytona, is designed in a deliberately minimalist style. Here, the origin of the car is given away, for example, by carbon fiber trims and a large media system display in the center of the front panel.
It is known that the Heritage ESX is based on a tubular chassis and is equipped with a five-liter V8 from Ford. Of the technical characteristics, only the weight of the prototype is named - 1,150 kilograms. The car will be shown live as part of the historical Le Mans Classic event, which will take place next weekend.
