The girl drank two cans of energy drinks every day for 15 (!) years in a row and almost lost her liver - she was one step away from becoming disabled.

Millions of people around the world cannot imagine a morning without coffee, but for Lucy Parker, energy drinks became a daily ritual. First one can, then two more before lunch, and this went on for more than 15 years.

Originally from Maidenhead, UK, Lucy moved to Australia, where she went to the doctor complaining of stomach pain. A CT scan showed a lump on her ovary, but doctors were most concerned about her liver, which looked "unhealthy."

After a series of tests, doctors suspected non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This condition can lead to cirrhosis, diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease.

"I was in shock. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs," Lucy said. The only harmful element in her life was energy drinks.

The British woman admitted that she regularly drank them in the morning, and this became her way of coping with fatigue and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which she was diagnosed with. According to the psychiatrist, energy drinks became a "dopamine addiction" for her, allowing her to feel calm and clear. However, it was the excess sugar that was overloading her liver, turning into fat. After hearing the diagnosis, Lucy abruptly gave up the drinks, and the remaining cans in the fridge were the last ones.

A few weeks later, repeat tests showed that the condition of the liver had significantly improved.

"The doctor simply did not believe it - it was not fibrosis, but only fat. Which means it is reversible," Lucy explained.

Today, Lucy runs a blog on TikTok, where she shares her experiences and new habits. She tries to replace morning energy drinks with other rituals and learns to naturally maintain dopamine levels.

"I'm 35 and I don't want serious health problems - especially those that I create for myself," she admitted.

Now she encourages others to think about it and not make the same mistake.
