A very rare 67-year-old BMW 507 valued at more than $1.5 million (60 photos)

The bidding for the BMW 507 Roadster, manufactured in 1958, is coming to an end and currently the car is expected to fetch over $1.5 million. The car is in good condition, although it was completely re-registered in 2012 and now looks different than it did 67 years ago. BMW only produced 250 of these cars.





According to the auction, the example put up for auction was originally sold in Germany, although the 507 model was developed primarily for the US market. The roadster was completely restored in 2012 and was re-registered during the process. The car rolled off the assembly line in white, but during the restoration it was repainted coral, including the metal interior parts, and the interior was re-upholstered in beige leather.

In addition to the beige soft top, the roadster is equipped with a removable hardtop, which was offered for the 507 as an option and was manually adjusted to each specific car. This component was repainted in ivory.

The power unit has been preserved unchanged. This is a 3.2-liter aluminum V8 with two Zenith carburetors and a four-speed manual ZF gearbox. It developed 150 hp and accelerated the roadster to 100 km/ h in about 11 seconds. The mileage of the rarity does not exceed 33 thousand kilometers, since, according to some information, in recent years it was part of a certain car collection.
