Members of a model railroad club have been building a model railroad in the basement of a house in the United States for decades. Recently, their work was in danger of disappearing, but the modelers were lucky. 
In the basement of a house in the American village of Rocky Hill, they built a model railroad for over 60 years - as a result, they got more than a kilometer of tracks with a whole miniature world around them.
A local modeling club had been working on the project since 1964, but not long ago their work was in danger of disappearing: one of the members died and his wife decided to sell the house. Luckily, a TV presenter who lived nearby found out about the story, got inspired by the topic and bought it.
Now the layout will continue to be developed, and they have also launched a merch store and paid membership in the club.
