Google presented a virtual fitting of clothes based on one user photo
At Google I/O 2025, the company announced a revolutionary feature in the field of online shopping that allows you to try on clothes virtually with the help of AI.
Google has introduced three new tools for shopping in AI Mode, which should radically change the online shopping experience. The most interesting innovation was the updated virtual try-on system, which allows users to upload just one photo of themselves to see how almost any clothes from online stores will look on them.
To do this, you need to upload a full-length photo of yourself in good lighting, and then the neural network will do everything for you. For now, “Try it on” is in experimental mode and only in the US, so we are waiting for the feature to reach us.
A new image generation model, specially developed for the fashion industry, superimposes clothing items on an AI version of the user. Google says the system "understands the human body and the nuances of clothing – how different materials fold, stretch, and drape on different body types," preserving those subtleties when superimposed on people's poses in photos.
