Incredible transformation: a man lost 138 kg without pills and operations (4 photos + 1 video)

Ken Doers had long suffered from depression, alcoholism and suicidal thoughts. The 53-year-old Michigan resident decided to take charge of himself when he weighed 550 pounds. It wasn't a trendy diet, a weight-loss shot or surgery that saved his life, but rolling around in bed. Yes, you read that right!

The man realized he could no longer properly care for his beloved dog Lucky. This moment was a difficult test, but it marked the beginning of changes in his life.

His body was so weak that simply rolling from side to side every morning helped Ken start losing weight. From his bed, the American moved on to chair exercises, during which he did various bends and stretches without putting stress on his joints. He quickly began to lose 7 kilograms a month when he adjusted his diet.

In a video documenting his incredible transformation, Ken said: “The day I first started working out, I knew it would change my life. I felt a difference in the first week, just doing bed exercises. Then I was able to get up and start doing chair exercises... It was something. I wanted to get rid of the cane then.”

Doers made progress in losing weight, but he suffered the death of his dog Lucky. This grief was difficult to cope with, because his beloved pet lived with him for ten years.

Despite the mental pain, he continued to do fitness. Instead of Lucky, his faithful companion became a yoga mat.

Ken followed a yoga program developed by former WWE wrestler Diamond Dallas Page. Initially, the athlete created it for those who, like himself, were injured.

Over time, the man was able to start walking without a cane and perform various actions: “I can put on socks. I can cut my toenails. I can drive my van without the steering wheel rubbing my stomach. I can use a seat belt. I can walk forward down the hallway, not sideways. I can sit on a chair in the hospital. I can sit in a movie theater. I can sit on the floor and play with my dog. I can walk down stairs without fear."

In four years, Ken has lost 300 pounds, and he no longer wears 7XL shirts and size 18 pants.

The man lost several teeth due to poor diet and poor hygiene. A dentist installed implants, completing the transformation.

“I’m living my best life at 50. I’m lucky to have a second chance, and I’m going to do everything I can to make the most of it. People need to understand that you can always change. It’s just a matter of how much you want to change. If I can change, then anyone can. You create the life you want to live,” Doers concluded.

Ken’s weight loss video has been viewed over 3 million times. Viewers are thanking him for his honesty and courage to share his story.
