A man lost 95 kg for his wife (2 photos)
28-year-old Isaiah Caldwell weighed 197 kg with a height of 195 cm when he heard the doctors’ disappointing prognosis. A newlywed has learned that his obesity can lead to fertility problems.
A man from St. Louis, Missouri, went on a strict diet consisting only of meat and other animal products, such as eggs and dairy products.
After two years, the technology salesman had lost almost half his weight. He is now happy, healthy and wants to continue trying for a baby with his wife Amanda, 29.
“Having a baby is our ultimate dream,” Caldwell shares. “We tried for a year before we started to suspect there were fertility issues. I knew I would do my best.”
The man began to change his life, giving up many of his favorite foods.
“People think there is some kind of magic in this diet. But in fact, you just get rid of overeating, because meat is very difficult to eat in large quantities,” admitted Isaiah.
"Within a week I felt much better, the brain fog was completely gone. I felt a million times better. But I knew I couldn't live on meat forever."
A month later he lost 10 kg. Inspired, he decided to hold out for another month, and then decided not to stop there.
Ten months later, having lost more than 45 kg, he introduced fruits and dairy products into his diet and plunged headlong into the world of strength training. Soon his weight reached 95 kg.
“If you think you can’t do it, know that I doubted myself too,” encourages Caldwell. “Losing weight seemed impossible and hopeless, but everyone is capable of it.”
Experts at the Cleveland Clinic note that a meat-based diet can lead to "weight loss, improved mood, and blood sugar regulation," but they warn that avoiding a variety of foods leads to a lack of fiber, as well as an increased risk of heart disease due to... for consuming large amounts of fat.
Isaiah says: "I'm in my best physical shape and we really want to find a way to become parents. We're very optimistic. I'm going to get tested, I've increased my chances from scratch."
