An advert for a British Shorthair cat nanny in London has caused a stir online due to the bizarre daily duties, including playing classical music and shopping.
The unusual job posting was shared on TikTok by Felicity Abbott, the owner of recruitment company Found by Felicity. Her video quickly went viral due to the description of the future employee's bizarre daily duties.
"This is the funniest job advert I've ever seen. Cat sitter in London, £65 an hour, full-time or part-time. Client is a British Shorthair," Felity said.
The main duties include constant attention to the cat, feeding, grooming, classical music concerts and monthly trips to an upmarket department store to buy toys. "For £65 an hour you play the piano for the cat and do the shopping. This animal has a better life than most people," Felity joked.
The video has attracted hundreds of comments from users, with many saying they would happily take the job even if the boss was a cat. A professional pet sitter shared her own experience: "Most people don't even pay £6 per visit, let alone that much."
"This is crazy, where do I apply?" asked another commenter;
Another said: "They are rich enough for their cat to have her own butler";
Many users expressed their willingness to travel for the job. "I would travel for this job. I am willing to travel 2 hours each way," wrote one viewer.
Some shared their disappointment at not having had time to apply: "I had just reworked my resume and written a cover letter, and it turned out that the vacancy had already been filled."
