Woman finds snake den under house
The rural house where Callie Phillips' family lives has turned into a "snake den." The couple finds reptiles every week.
A resident of Montana (USA), 26-year-old mother of three and blogger Callie Phillips, woke up one morning and saw a snake right in the kitchen. It was already the eighth reptile in a week.
The American said that since moving to the house on the ranch, snakes appeared rarely and one at a time, but this year there were ten times more of them. Under the entrance terrace, the couple found a real nest - a lair, where, apparently, the reptiles lived and reproduced for several years, quietly filling the space under the floor. This is confirmed by the regular appearance of snakes in the house: one of them literally "met" the owner in the morning in the kitchen - already the eighth in a week.
Callie's husband, Chase, works at a local ranch and the house was provided to them as part of their work contract.
"We can't move. Without this house, we wouldn't be able to keep our cows, take care of our horses, and maintain our lifestyle. This is our only home and our only income," Phillips explains.
The family has launched a "heroic fight" against the invaders: they've sealed up any cracks where snakes could enter, set up traps, sprayed sealant foam, and tried to block any possible entry points. But in rural Montana, it's impossible to quickly call an exterminator, and most specialized services only serve large population centers.
TikTok users were not indifferent: the video has collected thousands of comments. Some joked, suggesting burning the house down and "giving it to the snakes," while others expressed concern for the safety of the children.
"It's disturbing that people are more worried about snakes than three small children," one user wrote.
Phillips insists that she shared her story not for the sake of hype, but to get real advice and support.
"I was hoping someone would tell me how to get rid of these snakes. But most of the advice boils down to sell the house and run," she said.
