A swarm of bees disrupted a religious ceremony near a temple in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand.
The incident occurred on May 3 on the territory of a Buddhist temple in the Pak Chong district. At about 1 p.m., a solemn ordination ceremony for new monks was taking place there, which many local residents attended.
During the celebration, a balloon carried by a little girl touched a beehive attached to the eaves of the temple. The disturbed insects swarmed out and attacked the participants in the ceremony. In total, more than 30 people were stung by bees. Four of the victims were seriously injured and taken to hospital.
In particular, a man named Sanngat Tongsang was stung more than 100 times, after which he began to suffocate. He was saved by doctors at the intensive care unit of a local hospital.
