British environmental activist Megan Root-Trump, who became famous after her symbolic wedding with the River Avon, admitted that she considers this day the best in her life.





In an interview for the talk show This Morning, she said that the ceremony took place in 2023 and was not only a personal gesture, but also part of an environmental campaign.

"It was a truly magical day. Many people say that a wedding is the most important moment in life. For me, it is," said Ruth-Trump. According to her, the union with the river was unofficial, but filled with deep meaning - to draw attention to the state of the UK's water resources and the problem of their pollution.



The activist clarified that she does not feel jealous of the Avon, despite the fact that other people also use this river. "We are in an open relationship. I swim in other bodies of water, and I like to see how others interact with nature," she added.



The purpose of the unusual performance is to remind us of alarming statistics. Ruth-Trump claims that more than half of the world's hospital beds are occupied by patients with diseases associated with contaminated water. According to her, rivers need protection just like any other living creatures, and attention to this problem should not be symbolic, but systemic.
