A boss in Taiwan paid an employee severance pay in hundreds of small coins as a “shock education” (3 photos)
During her time at work, the girl was often rude to her colleagues and superiors, and once she did not show up for work for three days without warning. 
19-year-old worker Liu said on social media that when she was fired, her employer gave her a plastic bag with coins as severance pay. This happened after the girl had a fight with her superiors. "I even found that there was 20 Taiwan dollars (60 US cents - PZ) missing, so I went to the employer, who joked, 'There's a beggar here, give her 20 Taiwan dollars,'" Liu said.
In his defense, the employer said that he did it as a form of "shock education." He wanted to convey to the girl how not to communicate with managers and colleagues. "I told her that when working, she should treat others with respect and maintain good communication. She responded dismissively, saying that she was impatient because she had just woken up," the store owner said. 
The employer also accused the employee of taking part of her salary in advance after working for only a month. At the same time, the girl did not show up for work for three days without warning. In addition, before paying Liu her severance pay, the store owner offered to exchange coins for banknotes if she apologized. “Legislators need to review the laws in Taiwan. I support the idea of preventing labor exploitation. But may I ask, why are there no corresponding measures for employees who are absent from work?” the boss said.
