The bizarre final moments of the life of Deshawn Dante Leath, the head of a nonprofit organization that helps children who are at risk of suffering from violence in society. It is unknown what Deshawn, 30, was taking, but he was able to defeat a police officer in a hand-to-hand fight on the side of the road in Ohio and steal a patrol car. Mr. Leath managed to drive to Pennsylvania, where he lost control, rolled over and was shot by the police officers pursuing him while trying to resist.
It is reported that the child abuse advocate had previously been in prison for home invasion (eight charges) and theft (two counts). He was released in 2023.
The family of the deceased announced a collection, stating that "Deshawn was a man of unwavering faith, deep compassion and a strong purpose." Raised $1200.
