A Thoughtful Family from Tennessee Managed to Protect Their Home from Flooding (4 photos + 1 video)
The US state of Tennessee is literally underwater. Rainfall has flooded everything around, but the Humphrey family's property has remained untouched. In the aerial video, the only house in Ridgeley stands in the middle of the disaster zone.
It is not known how the homeowners built the dam or when it was installed. But it did its job perfectly. According to locals, the family spent years improving the design.
"The Humphreys live here. They have been saved like this several times already," a viewer commented on the video.
"Country people are survivors," wrote another.
Residents said brothers Tucker and Justin Humphrey worked hard to protect their mother Amy's home from flooding.
"They do this every time there's a flood. It's unbelievable."
Last week, Tennessee was hit by heavy rains, forcing evacuations.
Bogota Assistant Fire Chief Hunter Long said his home was damaged. "The floor collapsed, so we launched a boat and went to the house next door to rescue the gentleman and his dog."

120 families affected by flooding of Mississippi and Obion rivers.
Local resident Larry Wiggins shared: "In more than 30 years of living in Bogota, I have never seen such a disaster."
His house was the first to flood because it is located in a lowland.
"When the water appeared on my property, the neighbors looked at each other and said: "Time to prepare for the flood. Larry is already flooding," the American added.

At least 21 people have died as a result of deadly storms that battered the Midwest last week.
In addition to heavy rains, tornadoes and strong winds were reported in some areas, including Kentucky, Mississippi and even parts of Tennessee.
The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed 10 deaths.
