The cause of the actor's death was prolonged pneumonia.





Val Kilmer's career began in 1981, when he began performing in the theater. And his first film role happened a little later - viewers saw him in 1984 in the comedy "Top Secret!" After the release of the film "Top Gun", the actor became known to the general public - in this film he played the role of Lieutenant Tom Iceman Kazansky.



In 1991, Kilmer played rock musician Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's biographical film The Doors, and in 1995, the film Batman Forever was released, for the leading role in which the actor received his first major fee ($7 million).

In the same 1995, he starred in Michael Mann's cult film Heat, for which he was nominated for a Saturn Award.





In 2000, Kilmer starred in the science fiction film "Red Planet" with a budget of over $100 million. For his role, he received the largest fee in his career ($10 million), but the film was a flop, after which the actor's career slowly declined. However, in

2005, he received a nomination for his role in the crime comedy "Kiss Kiss".



In 2014, Kilmer was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer, which is why he used a breathing tube for a long time, but, according to his daughter, he was still able to beat the disease.



The actor died on April 1 at the age of 65.
