A married couple from the USA adopted five black children and turned them into slaves (8 photos)

For this, they received 375 years in prison for both of them.

The couple lived in West Virginia, where they had a farm. One day, they realized that they were tired of toiling there on their own and remembered slavery.

The couple found a shelter for homeless and vulnerable teenagers and 10 years ago took five black boys and girls from there. They settled them on the farm and forced them to work in the fields for food.

Donald Lantz and Jean Kay Whitefeather

This came to light when their neighbor saw Donald Lantz and Jean Kay Whitefeather taking the kids out of the barn, lining them up, and leading them into the field. It is reported that at this time the couple was recalling the race of the teenagers. So the eyewitness called the child welfare authorities and officials came to the farm to check.

Here it all came to light: the children lived in an extension to the barn. They slept on the concrete floor and went to the bucket. There were cameras in the room, the spouses constantly watched the children and made them work 12 hours a day. In addition to working in the field, they cleaned the house and provided for the entire family life. There was no water in their barracks, so the teenagers rarely washed. And they were fed peanut butter sandwiches and other junk. They were punished for misbehavior, for example, they were forced to stand for several hours with their hands behind their heads.

So the guardianship authorities saw how the slave owners of the 21st century live and immediately contacted the police. During the investigation, the children reported that the foster parents are monsters and non-humans. The boys only realized the full horror of their situation when they were released from captivity. And the spouses said in court that they loved their children very much and never did anything bad to them. Slavery, apparently, did not count. But their babbling did not convince anyone and they were sentenced to the fullest extent of the law. For human trafficking, cruelty to minors and forced labor.

You brought these children to West Virginia, a place that I know as almost heaven, and put them in hell, - the judge said.

63-year-old Jeanne Kay Whitefeather was sentenced to 215 years in prison. Her husband, 64-year-old Donald Lantz, received 160 years, the media reported.

That's several life sentences. How will they serve them?

One at a time.
