A 500-kilogram bomb had been lying there for 80 years, not bothering anyone, and then suddenly they dug it up.
A sudden "hello" from World War II was discovered at a depth of two meters at a construction site north of the Gare du Nord station, where railway workers were building a new bridge over the tracks.
The bomb was there for a reason. The railway stations around occupied Paris were regular targets for British and American bombers during World War II. Naturally, it was simply impossible to find all the "gifts" afterwards.
Eurostar's director of safety and stations Simon Lejeune said the situation was "difficult" and the "best option" would be to cancel all services between London and Paris, as this would give passengers "clarity" in the face of "uncertainty".
According to the transport minister, almost 500 trains were cancelled, and the disruptions at the Gare du Nord affected about 600,000 people.

Trains were cancelled, then partially returned. People stuck because of the cancelled train are arguing in unison on social media, but can do nothing about the situation.
Police evacuated 200 people from their homes in Saint-Denis and temporarily closed part of the suburb's main ring road.
The bomb was taken away, its fate is still unknown.
