Various researchers compare the intelligence of crows to that of 3 or even 7-year-old children. In experiments, birds solve some problems faster and more successfully than human offspring of this age.

If such a stone flies from a height, it can even kill!

Birds can work together, make tools, learn from each other, use logic, draw analogies, they have abstract thinking and many other intellectual concepts. Scientists have conducted many experiments with birds, and they all passed them with flying colors. Crows are about as smart as primates or dolphins. So why do croakers use their cognitive abilities to cause harm? Have they decided to go over to the dark side completely?

An alcoholic crow is a grief for the family and the whole yard!

Maybe it's revenge? If you destroyed a nest of birds, chase them away for no reason and get too close to the chicks - expect trouble. Crows remember human faces very well. They carry out personal vendettas. Moreover, the birds will "tell" their relatives about your dirty tricks. In this case, the whole flock will stand on its ears as soon as you come closer. The crows will circle overhead, scream and peck.

But ornithologists dismiss the idea of a targeted bombing. No bird in our latitudes uses stones as a fireball. So what drives the birds?

Stones are just the beginning...

Scientists say that the main reason for the crows' chaos is boredom. If birds with slightly lower intelligence have the most basic concerns: finding food, raising offspring, protecting territory and not dying from predators, then smart crows are not satisfied with all this. Crows are one of the largest birds in the city, they can always find or take away food. It is also not difficult for them to take care of their offspring: few people would risk attacking their chicks, because all the city predators sit in apartments behind the “anti-cat” net and walk on a leash. Crows are too comfortable, and therefore very bored! So feathered geniuses come up with an entertainment for themselves in the form of throwing stones from a height.

Guys, look, I’ll show you a joke with a stone.

In general, throwing things from the sky is normal for birds. If you lived in a rural area in the south, then you know what I mean. In autumn, when walnuts ripen, crows stand guard by the trees and grab the nuts one after another. It is not always possible to open the hard shell on their own. Then the birds fly higher and throw the nut down. An affordable nutritious treat is ready! In cities, there is a problem with nuts, and with entertainment for crows - so they came up with a new fun.

3... 2... 1... Fire!

Due to vandalism, some cities have decided to remove crow nests from parks. Don't worry, they did this before the birds started laying eggs. So, not a single croak was harmed. But do the crows understand that they are causing harm with their actions? Unlikely. At least in the case of a stone rain.

The car owner is clearly not laughing.

It also happens that birds deliberately troll someone. Most often, the jokers target neighbors in the concrete jungle: cats, dogs, rats, other birds. The croaks will pull someone's tail, nip their ear, or pinch their butt. Of course, such behavior is not always playful. By pestering, birds distract a competitor from eating, protect a nest or a fledgling. But sometimes there are no visible reasons, but there are jabs on the sly.

— Did you tell me that I throw stones from the roof?! — Yeah... — What a rat you are!

Feathered creatures also have peaceful amusements. In winter, crows slide from roofs, like we do from a slide. And in summer, birds enjoy air slides. It works the same way as flying in a wind tunnel for humans. In bad weather, birds find ascending currents, jump and soar until the wind itself lifts them up. Crows also have toys: pine cones, twigs, pebbles or interesting things stolen from humans.

What a strange dog you have! Can I pet it, it doesn't bite?
