Stupid and dangerous: police detained a man with strange "criminal tools" (3 photos + 1 video)

27 February 2025

British police quickly tracked down the robber, who left behind "crime weapons" at two crime scenes. These were an ordinary kitchen knife for slicing bread and a pink children's water pistol.

Law enforcement officials say Cooper attempted to rob local stores twice, but failed. On February 18, 2024, the man entered a local hotel wearing a mask and demanded money from the manager, but the manager began to defend himself from the robber, who fled the scene after a short fight.

The police found a strange object hidden in a bag that resembled a gun. Upon inspection, it turned out that Cooper had threatened the hotel employee with a children's pink gun that blows soap bubbles.

Six months later, on August 24, 2024, Cooper attempted to commit another robbery using a similar strategy. However, instead of a "gun", the criminal decided to use a knife for slicing bread wrapped in a dark bag.

But when the man and his accomplice broke into the jewelry store, the owner began to actively resist and the two would-be thieves very quickly left the crime scene. Thanks to the evidence left at the crime scenes, the police quickly found Timothy Cooper, who was detained soon after.

During interrogation, the man fully confessed to his crimes. In February of this year, the court sentenced Cooper to imprisonment for up to 6 years and 3 months.

Whittleshire police say they were able to prevent serial attacks by the convicted man, because there is no doubt that the criminal is extremely dangerous and could pose a serious problem for British citizens.

"Cooper is a dangerous man who waited until both rooms were quiet before entering and demanding money. He wanted the victims to believe he had a firearm. However, the victims fought very bravely and refused to hand over the money. There is no doubt that the victims will remember Cooper's attempted robberies for a long time to come, but they do know that he will be in prison for a considerable period of time," said Police Constable Sean Sergi.
