Obscene parrot constantly insults hotel guests, but they like it (3 photos + 1 video)

The parrot greets people, but then always says something inappropriate to them. At the same time, the bird has become friends with a bulldog belonging to one of the regulars.





Kerry Chapman, 53, bought Rio, a South American cockatoo, from a pet shop when he was six weeks old and later became the owner of a pub and hotel in Cardiff, UK.

The bird has lived with the hotel owner since he was a puppy and learned his inappropriate language from regulars.

Rio has become a local celebrity and even acts as a security guard for the pub, telling unsuspecting customers: "You are not allowed in."

"Rio says hello to people when they come in, but then tells them where to go. He's said much worse things, like: "You're a bitch," "You're a f*ck," and so on," Kerry Chalman explained.



She also said that the parrot often takes people's hats and rips them with his beak.

"But no one ever gets annoyed with him. People come from all over Cardiff just to see Rio. The regulars love him too," the woman said.

Joe Relvas, 67, nicknamed the "parrot man", is one regular who has formed a close bond with Rio.

"I don't know why, but Rio loves me when I come. He gets jealous when I talk to other customers. Everyone in the area knows Rio. He's a lovely creature. Sometimes he'll say 'Wassup!' but then he'll tell me to f**k off too," Relvas said.

Another regular, Larry Green, 48, who has been coming to Clifton with his family since he was eight, said his bulldog, Chaos, has become friends with Rio.



"My five-year-old bulldog Chaos used to just sit and watch Rio. He didn't know who he was and they didn't get along, but they're fine now," the man said.

The hotel owner says Rio will always be a part of her life because he's "an amazing and wonderful parrot."
