Three kidnappers demanded a ransom of 30 thousand euros for the man, but he informed his friend about the crime in Hindi, which the criminals did not know.
A plan to kidnap a British cryptocurrency broker for whom a ransom of 30,000 euros was demanded has been uncovered in Spain. But he was saved thanks to resourcefulness: the man called a friend in London, under the pretext of wanting to access his crypto wallet and took advantage of the fact that the kidnappers did not know Hindi. The criminals were arrested on the Costa del Sol.
Spanish police have released a video of the kidnappers' arrest, and they are already being compared to a Hollywood blockbuster. At first, law enforcement chased the Audi in which the criminal trio tried to escape, and then surrounded the car and detained the suspects.
The men took a crypto broker hostage and demanded 30,000 euros for his release after a chance meeting in Marbella led to him accepting an invitation for a drink and ending up being held hostage in the resort of Estepona. The trio of kidnappers tied up their victim and threatened to torture and kill him if he did not open access to his clients' crypto wallets to pay them and regain his freedom.
The 34-year-old Hindi-speaking man escaped by pretending to call a customer who he said would give him half of the code needed to access a cryptocurrency wallet.
Instead, he called a friend in London and explained that he was being held against his will in a language his captors did not understand.

His friend informed the victim's mother, who told police what was happening. This prompted an operation to find where he was being held. Police located where he was being held and arrested his captors, when the man took advantage of their confusion to escape.
One of the suspects tried to escape arrest by jumping from the balcony, but fell and broke his ankles.
During a search of the apartment, officers found more than 10,000 euros, two pistols, three knives and 25 grams of pink cocaine. It was later reported that the kidnappers were from Britain.
