Japanese snowboarder Hiroto Ogiwara won gold in the X Games Big Air competition after landing the world's first 2340-degree mute grab. The 19-year-old Nagano native completed six and a half rotations and scored 97.33 points to win comfortably.
Last year's champion Taiga Hasegawa (94.66 points) won the silver medal at the Buttermilk Resort in Aspen (USA), and the third place went to a newcomer from New Zealand, Rocco Jamieson, who scored 91.33 points.
"I'm the first one to do it. I've never been so happy," Ogiwara admitted. "It was the greatest moment of my life. I think I put all my energy into that trick."

His career reached a new level at The Nines in Switzerland, where he performed the world's first BS Quint Coke 2160 - a trick in which the rider rotates six times and starts the rotation by turning away from the jump, with his back to the direction of travel.
Ogiwara's love for snowboarding began at an early age, thanks to his parents, who often took him to ski resorts. At the age of 9, he attracted the attention of the global snowboarding community with a viral video, and at 12, he made his debut on the professional arena.
