Restaurant paid large compensation to a girl who burned herself with too much heat sauce (3 photos)
Genesis Monita and her sister arrived at the Bill Miller BAR-B-Q restaurant (San Antonio, Texas, USA), but Genesis did not enjoy the food at all.
The relatives picked up the order and got into their parked car to eat. At one point, 19-year-old Genesis reached for a container of sauce, but it was so hot that the girl burned her fingers and dropped it. It only got worse when the scalding (187 degrees Fahrenheit) sauce spilled on the unfortunate woman's thigh, causing her to suffer a second-degree burn. Not only was Genesis in pain, but she was also said to have suffered emotional trauma.
All of this was outlined in a lawsuit against Bill Miller BAR-B-Q, and the court recently ordered the restaurant to pay the victim a whopping $2.8 million in compensation. Genesis' attorney said he was very pleased with the decision, and the burned woman herself was probably far from displeased.
