4-year-old girl was awarded $800,000 in US for burning herself with a McDonalds nugget (3 photos)
And the parents of the child wanted to receive as much as $ 15 million in compensation.
In 2019, a woman with her four-year-old daughter went to McDonalds. The lady took the Happy Meal and they returned to their car. There's a mother handed the child a pack of nuggets in the back seat. One of them fell out and stuck for a couple of minutes between the chair and the girl's leg. As a result, she received a second-degree burn and scars on her thigh.
Her parents were very angry and they sued - demanded $15 million from McDonalds "in pain and suffering, mutilation, mental anguish, inconvenience and loss of ability to enjoy life." The process went on for 4 years, and now the jury in the state of Florida ruled verdict: pay the girl's family 800 thousand dollars.
Of these: half of the amount goes for a burn 4 years ago, and the second half of compensation - for possible future psychotrauma.
Although her parent initially demanded 15 million, but I was satisfied with such a "meager" payment. In her words: "Jury made the right decision."
