43-year-old man married an 88-year-old woman whom he loved all his life (4 photos)
The couple are preparing to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. They are still as happy as ever, sharing each other's passion for art and creativity. 
A couple with a 45-year age difference, Adrian Narvaez and Delia Luques, recently opened up about their lasting love story. The man, now 43, first met his future bride at an art exhibition in 1998, when he was 16 and she was 61. At first, it was just a simple friendship based on their creative interests. Delia was fond of painting, and Adrian loved to write poetry and stories. About how feelings arose between them.
Love in secret
After their first meeting, the couple kept in touch, exchanging letters that they have kept to this day. Over the years, their friendship grew into a romantic relationship and, eventually, Adrian confessed his love to his long-time friend.
For twelve long months, they decided to keep their romance secret, meeting only occasionally to play cards or have a drink in each other's company. 
As Delia told the local press, not everyone was delighted with their love.
"My father understood me right away, but my mother didn't want to know anything. She didn't understand that we could love each other despite the age difference. At first, she did everything she could to separate us," says Adrian, who lives with his beloved in Rivadavia (Argentina).
Feelings won out
On March 18, 2005, Adrian and Delia decided to legitimize their relationship and got married. Narvaez, who had never been attracted to women his age, said: "I've never been embarrassed by the age difference. Honestly, I don't notice it." 
In 2009, Delia underwent eight surgeries, as she had problems with her hip, knee, eyes and gall bladder. She was recently hospitalized again due to arrhythmia. Fortunately, the woman has already recovered.
Now the lovers are preparing to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. They are still as happy as before, sharing each other's passion for art and creativity.
