Former developers of the third "Witcher" showed a creepy trailer for their new game (4 photos + 1 video)
Veterans of the game studio CD Projekt RED, who took part in the creation of "The Witcher 3" (and not only), presented the dark game "The Blood of Dawnwalker", which they are currently working on. The creators describe the game as a third-person action-RPG in the setting of an alternative version of medieval Europe, devastated by plague and famine. 
The Rebel Wolves studio, founded by former CD Projekt RED employees, held a stream during which a full screening of The Blood of Dawnwalker, the team's debut project, took place.
The team presented a cinematic trailer for the action RPG in a dark fantasy setting, lasting four minutes. The authors stated that this video will be the beginning of the game's plot.
The story of The Blood of Dawnwalker will unfold in the middle of the 14th century on the territory of an alternative version of Europe. According to the synopsis, the continent suffered greatly from devastating disasters, frequent wars, dangerous diseases, and cruel vampires who came to power, having displaced the previous rulers.
The main character will be a guy named Cohen, who can be seen in the video. After the events shown in the intro, he acquired supernatural powers - he will have to save his loved ones from bloodsuckers, for which he will be given only 30 days and nights. Time will only move forward at certain moments, but you will still have to use it wisely. The young man will also face a choice: to preserve his true identity or accept the dark essence, which will be reflected in both the gameplay and the plot. One of the main mechanics will be "Hunger" - the protagonist who has not fed on blood for a long time has a chance to lose control and kill an important character, which will lead to an unexpected outcome.
Players will be able to freely explore well-developed locations, where the time of day will affect many moments. The studio's representatives described the open world as a "narrative sandbox" with a lot of room for action. All decisions made will have consequences in the future, and each new playthrough will be different from the previous one. According to the Rebel Wolves employees, their action RPG is a single-player adventure with an emphasis on narrative.
As part of the online presentation, the team showed a small teaser with footage from the alpha build of The Blood of Dawnwalker and let us listen to several tracks from the soundtrack.
The action RPG has been in production for two years now — it is being created on the Unreal Engine 5. The key authors of the game are the head of development of The Witcher 3 Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, screenwriter Jakub Szamalek, artist Bartłomiej Havel, and Marcin Tomaszkiewicz, quest director of Cyberpunk 2077.
The Blood of Dawnwalker will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but so far it does not even have an approximate release date. More detailed information about the gameplay is expected to be shared in the summer.
