A New Ford Mustang Was Stolen Immediately After Delivery (1 photo)
A Mustang Dark Horse sports car ordered by a customer of Ford's Australian division was stolen just a few minutes after the ship transporting it docked in the Port of Melbourne. According to the publication Drive, the customer placed an order for the car two years ago and now, apparently, will be forced to wait an unscheduled few more months.
The publication does not specify how exactly the criminals managed to seize the car so quickly. Local law enforcement agencies do not go into details, although the fact of the theft was confirmed by the Australian division of Ford. With a high degree of probability, it will no longer be possible to find the rare sports car - most likely, it will be shipped abroad.
Only 1,000 Mustang Dark Horses in the original specification are reserved for the Australian market, and all of them were sold out this summer. The manufacturer promised that the customer will still be provided with his own copy of the rare Mustang. Thus, the limited edition will grow to 1001 cars, and the unscheduled car may turn out to be a collector's item. However, the customer will have to wait until at least the second quarter of next year for delivery.
On the Green Continent, Ford sells a slightly derated modification of the Dark Horse, developed with an eye on race tracks. If in the USA the engine of such a Mustang develops 507 hp and 566 Nm, then for Australia the output is reduced to 475 hp and 548 Nm. The engine is aggregated with a six-speed "mechanics" or a 10-range "automatic", the price is from 99.1 thousand local dollars or 63.5 thousand US dollars.
