Scientists have modeled the appearance of today's youth to 2050 (2 photos)
Scientists have created a female model that shows what today's young generation in their 20s and 30s will look like by 2050 if they don't start getting more sleep.
This is what a person who sleeps only six hours a night could look like by 2050. "Hannah" is a visualization of a woman suffering from the effects of chronic sleep deprivation, which can include premature aging, hair loss, and other health problems.
Sleep expert Dr Sophie Bostock has claimed that Generation Z is in the midst of a "tiredness epidemic". The average Brit sleeps for just six hours and 24 minutes a night, which is taking a toll on their physical and mental wellbeing. Research shows that sleep deprivation disrupts circadian rhythms, affecting a host of health issues.
Dr Bostock explains that chronic sleep deprivation increases the risk of developing conditions such as obesity, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. This "Hannah" look is based on scientific research that shows exactly how sleep deprivation affects the body, including the brain, immune system, skin, hair and muscles.
