Electric car owners don’t want to go back to cars with internal combustion engines (1 photo)
Only 1% of those who already own an electric car would agree to switch back to a model with a classic internal combustion engine when changing their car. This is the conclusion reached by analysts from the Global Electric Vehicle Alliance (GEVA) during a large-scale study. The main advantages and disadvantages of this type of transport were also named.
97% of survey participants expressed satisfaction with the experience of operating an electric car. 92% would buy an electric car again when planning to change their personal transport. Another 4% agreed to a car with a hybrid power plant. The rest, not counting the 1% who want to return to an internal combustion engine, have not yet decided on their choice.
Among the main reasons for purchasing an electric car are the relatively low cost of operation, unwillingness to pollute the atmosphere, and interest in current technologies. In addition, it was noted that electric cars produce less noise than fuel vehicles.
When asked about the disadvantages of electric mobility, the majority said that there are none. However, an insufficient number of powerful charging stations, too long a charging time, and a lack of range were still named. According to the survey, 72% of electric car owners prefer to charge them at home.
The study involved more than 23 thousand people from 18 countries and different regions - Europe, North and South America, and Asia.
In the spring, during a similar survey, analysts came to the conclusion that electric cars most often attract the youngest buyers, who, due to their age, are actively interested in modern technology. In the age range from 18 to 24 years, 90% of survey participants would agree to switch to a battery-powered car if not for the current price level.
