Ken Block's Subaru Impreza WRX STI was put up for sale (35 photos)

The rally-ready car was driven by two extreme sports stars at once: Ken Block and Travis Pastrana.





A remarkable Subaru Impreza WRX STI is currently being auctioned off in the US. The 2004 model took part in WRC rounds between 2007 and 2008, and was also spotted at Rally America. The sedan was driven by famous extreme sportsmen Mark Fox and Dave Mirra, and true legends Ken Block and Travis Pastrana.

The car was prepared for racing according to WRC Group N requirements by specialists from the Vermont SportsCar workshop. It is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer engine with a 34 mm restrictor. The output is 300 horsepower and a little over 400 Nm of torque. The unit works in tandem with a 6-speed manual and a proprietary Subaru all-wheel drive system, supplemented by a programmable DCCD controller. The power plant also acquired a FIA-certified fuel system with two pumps, a special tank and a number of other modifications necessary for rally racing.

The standard suspension has given way to Ohlins struts with external reservoirs, adjustable levers, other anti-roll bars and special brakes. The wheels are 15-inch Speedline Corse alloy wheels, shod with Pirelli Scorpion rally tires.

Everything unnecessary for racing has been removed from the interior, and in its place there is a built-in roll cage, Sparco Circuit II Halo buckets, a Momo steering wheel, a fire suppression system, intercoms, additional switch panels and fire extinguishers.

The odometer of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI listed for sale through the Cars & Bids auction shows a mileage of 13,958 miles (~22,400 km). How many of these miles the car has spent on rally special stages is not specified. The current bid has reached 75 thousand US dollars.
