A Mercedes with a transparent suitcase for money was put up for sale (18 photos)
Dubai car dealership Auto Deals has put an unusual Mercedes-Benz up for sale. The custom was built by John Sarkisian from the Los Angeles studio S-Klub on the basis of one of the relatively modern and affordable Mercedes-Benz and, in addition to the stylization of the iconic "gull wing", is supplemented with an unusual accessory - a suitcase with a transparent insert in the body intended for money. The sports car was estimated at 3.9 million dirhams or a little more than a million dollars.
The custom is only vaguely similar to the famous Mercedes-Benz 300SL - it is longer, lower and wider, has impressive wheel arch extensions and many carbon fiber trims, including a large spoiler on the trunk lid. In addition, the sports car is equipped with its own removable top and 19-inch wheels. However, the description of the car states that it is styled as a 300 SL from 1957.
The interior of the sports car generally retains the features of the donor model - the SLK 55 AMG of the early 2000s - but has been completely refinished and supplemented with some features like the original gear selector knob and a modern media system from Alpine. In addition, the interior of the custom is decorated with many illuminated elements. In the photos attached to the ad, the suitcase in the trunk is shown filled with banknotes. The seller does not specify whether they are real.
The roadster is powered by a 5.4-liter V8 from AMG with a declared output of 355 horsepower in combination with an automatic transmission. The mileage of the donor car is almost 74 thousand kilometers, but it is not specified how much the custom has traveled since the completion of construction.
