Several insurance fraudsters have been caught in California. One of the scammers dressed up in a bear costume and faked attacks on expensive cars.
Four people have been arrested on insurance fraud charges in California. They claimed their cars were "damaged" by a grizzly bear, but it turned out that the "bear" was a man in a costume.
The incident occurred near Airhead, when a video was sent to the insurance company, in which a bear allegedly entered a car and damaged it. However, upon closer inspection of the video, it turned out that it was a man in a suit
The detainees also filed other lawsuits for damage to two cars, where a man in a bear suit again appeared. The suspects were 26-year-old Ruben Tamrazyan, 39-year-old Arat Chirkinyan, 32-year-old Vahe Muradkhanyan and 39-year-old Alfiya Zukerman.
The fraud caused insurance companies losses of about $142,000. The bear suit, as well as tools for simulating claw marks, were found in the suspects' homes.
