David Hemlett has been working on an abandoned piece of land to improve his health for over 30 years. However, when he returned from holiday, he found out that his neighbours had suddenly started complaining about him and his mother.
In Liverpool, 57-year-old David Hemlett has been banned from his land after a series of complaints. Unknown neighbours have complained about him, accusing him of a number of "violations".
Journalists write that the man has been looking after this piece of land, which belongs to the local council, for 30 years. There were no complaints about his actions, but when Mr. Gemlet returned to his favorite place after a vacation, he found that the area was already closed.
The man himself claims that he looked after the territory well, keeping it in good condition. However, now he has discovered that he is prohibited from visiting this land after the intervention of the Liverpool City Council.
The media indicates that several complaints were filed against the man by owners of other areas. In particular, they complained that Gemlet did not take care of this area, as well as about cutting down trees and bushes. Another complaint was about the man's mother, who allegedly swore loudly in the parking lot next to this area.
"I've known my mother all my life and I've never heard her swear," the man said, adding that he's spent 30 years cleaning and caring for this area, but now he can't get to her because of the lock on the door.
Despite the fact that he's already filed a complaint with the local authorities regarding this ban, he still can't get in. The man himself notes that it's his work that allows him to overcome his serious illnesses. However, he was shocked by the behavior of his neighbors, who, in his opinion, simply made up reasons for complaints.
This situation has had a major impact on his health, as the man's skin problems have worsened due to the increasing stress. It is Mr Hemlet who says that his deteriorating health has forced him to leave the business to which he has dedicated more than 30 years.
Liverpool Local Council did not respond to journalists' requests for comment, but in a short comment they said they were following the decision of the Land Allocation Committee. And the committee said that if the owner was informed of the ban on entry to the site, then the local council should inform about the change in status.
