In Greece, tourists were given a cleaning product to drink (3 photos)

Five hotel guests were hospitalized after having a few drinks. The incident happened on October 5 in the village of Gouves in Crete, Greece, when the group was partying with the bar staff. Two Britons, one German and two Dutch, aged between 35 and 69, ordered tsikoudia, a traditional drink.





The bartender offered the guests a drink from a bottle she found in the fridge. She also poured a glass for herself, but did not have time to drink it.



All five were taken to hospital, where they were placed in intensive care. The victims are in serious condition.

Local media reported that the bar was closed and the hotel manager was detained. Police are investigating. Preliminary tests showed that the bottle contained cleaning product.
