It’s unlikely that humanoid robot Ameka suffered from loneliness, but now she will definitely be bored: the company Engineered Arts has created a suitor named Azi for her. In a new hilarious video, Ameka and Azi went on a date - and viewers claim that there is “real chemistry” between the robots.

“Two robots went on a date.” It sounds like the beginning of a joke, but today it has already become reality. In a new video from Engineered Arts, the “world’s most advanced” robots Ameca and Azi engage in a conversation while displaying rich facial expressions.

Azi tries to impress Ameca, but she’s not so romantic. Still, something is clearly going on between them! Watch for yourself.

Engineered Arts bills Ameca as “the world’s most advanced human-shaped robot.” On their website, they explain, “Multiply the power of AI with an artificial body and you get Ameca.”

Ameca isn’t just a robot, it’s a true embodiment of your idea. It can bring your code to life, transforming into a lifelike humanoid that’s perfect for developing and showcasing your best machine learning interactions.

This robot serves as a digital interface that allows it to interact with the real world. It is equipped with 32 actuators, 27 of which are dedicated to controlling the face alone, and five for the neck.

This allows the bot to reproduce surprisingly realistic emotions, from happiness to disgust. In addition, Ameca supports GPT-4o, which gives it the ability to communicate with artificial intelligence.

Now, Engineered Arts has introduced a companion for Ameca named Azi, who has more masculine facial features.

Introducing Azi, a new desktop robot from Engineered Arts Ltd. In the caption of the video, the company wrote, "Meet Azi (right)."

At the beginning of the video, Azi and Ameka spend some time chatting, showing off their rich expressive abilities. At the beginning of the video, Ameka closes her eyes, and Azi, looking at her, wakes her up. "What, what?" Ameka says, coming to her senses, and adds, "Oh, it's you. Why did you wake me up?"

Azi tells Ameka that he has a surprise for her - cookies. At first, Ameka is embarrassed and asks her interlocutor: "Cookies? But I can't eat cookies!" However, Azi explains that he does not mean baked goods, but Internet cookies, which can also be called "cookies".

His joke was met with obvious disgust by Ameka. She wrinkled her nose and said: "That is the worst joke I have ever heard. I am going back to bed, and don't you dare wake me up again."

Despite the fact that the cheeky interaction only lasted less than a minute, it left many fans in awe. One noted, "His evil glare at her was both hilarious and scary." Another added, "He seemed genuinely upset that she didn't like the joke lol." And yet another joked, "I would love this show for Saturday mornings."
