New BMW M5 G60 became a 727-horsepower hybrid (5 photos + video)

The online presentation of the new generation BMW M5 was held. The sports sedan will soon be shown to the public in July at the British Goodwood Festival of Speed, and its sales will begin in November at a price of $120,675. Focus writes about it.



New BMW M5, characteristics

The power unit underwent the biggest changes, because the sedan borrowed a hybrid unit from the BMW XM crossover. In the BMW M5 G60, the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 and the electric motor produce a total of 727 hp. and 1000 N∙m.

This is the most powerful BMW M5 in history, but not the fastest. The hybrid installation increased the mass of the car to 2445 kg, which affected the dynamics: acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.5 seconds, and to 200 km/h - 10.9 seconds. The maximum speed can be limited to 250 or 305 km/h.





But a large battery of 14.8 kWh allows you to drive up to 69 km in electric mode. Fuel consumption is 1.7 l/100 km in the combined cycle and 10.3 l/100 km with a discharged battery.

The new BMW M5 2025 retains the 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive with an active rear differential and rear-wheel drive mode for drifting.



The suspension of the BMW 5 Series has been almost completely redesigned and supplemented with adaptive shock absorbers. Steerable rear wheels and enlarged brakes with a diameter of 410 mm at the front and 398 mm at the rear are also installed (carbon-ceramic discs are an option).

The BMW M5 G60 sedan debuted first, but the lineup will also include a station wagon. It differs from the standard BMW 5 Series with a new radiator grille with lighting, aggressive bumpers and blown fenders.



In addition, a body kit, a rear spoiler and four exhaust pipes are installed. The car received different size wheels with 285/40 ZR20 front and 295/35 ZR21 rear tires.

The interior of the BMW M5 is decorated with leather and carbon fiber. A sports steering wheel and seats were installed, and the graphics were changed in the virtual instrument panel and multimedia menu.



The complete set of BMW M5 2025 has been expanded - a projection on the windshield, a panoramic roof, a heated steering wheel and powerful Bowers & Wilkins acoustics have been added.
