20-year-old guy sued his mother: she threw out his manga collection (3 photos + 1 video)
The guy won the case, but he will probably have to look for a new place to live soon.
A mother and son live together in the city of Chiayi in Taiwan. At some point, the woman noticed that the volumes of the Japanese manga "Attack on Titan" were a little damp, so she decided to throw out all 32 books in the series without asking her son's permission. In addition, she wanted to free up space.
When the guy discovered the loss, he was so angry that he called the police and reported his own mother. He later filed a lawsuit, accusing his mother of destroying his personal property.
In court, the guy stated that his manga collection was very valuable, since Attack on Titan is very popular, and some of the 32 volumes of the series are no longer published, so they can be considered collector's items.
In her defense, the mother insisted that the comics were damp and took up too much space, so throwing them away was justified. She also expressed a desire to make peace with her son, but he did not want to talk to her.
Ultimately, the court ruled that the failure to respect the son's property rights was inappropriate and ordered the mother to be fined NT$5,000, although the fine could be replaced by community service.
The incident occurred in February, but the court made its decision recently. According to Taiwanese media, the son still refuses to make peace with his elderly mother.
