Yesterday, Oktoberfest kicked off in Munich - a celebration for beer lovers and all those involved. Beer aficionados from all over the world gathered in Munich and plan to drink there until October 6.
The party started at 12 noon: the mayor of Munich shouted "Uncorked", and people ran to take tables in the beer tents:

The drinks there are not at all budget-friendly - a liter mug of beer costs €15.
So the vacation will hit your pocket pretty hard, although that won't stop beer fans.
Oktoberfest is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most massive festive event in the world, with up to 6 million people getting drunk on beer there every year. They gather on a 26-hectare site and are served in tents specially built for this purpose. The largest of them can accommodate up to 10,000 people.
Oktoberfest has been held since 1810. Breaks were only made during World Wars or the coronavirus pandemic. On average, festival-goers knock back 5 to 7 million liters of beer. Organizers believe that this year's festival will set a record for the amount drunk - and even the exorbitant price tag will not scare away beer lovers.
