British couple fought with flight attendants and spat on Ryanair flight (5 photos + 1 video)
On Sunday, a Ryanair flight from Manchester to Ibiza was forced to land in Toulouse, France, after a heavily intoxicated passenger and his companion caused a row on board.
A witness said the man had been drinking vodka for about an hour and began arguing with a flight attendant. The Briton then turned his attention to his neighbour and spat at the woman.
When he was told the flight would have to be diverted, he replied: "I don't care."
His fellow passengers tolerated his behavior for 40 minutes.
After the troublemaker was kicked out in Toulouse, his companion began to pester the passenger, fight and scream. She was detained and taken off the plane barefoot.
People had to wait an hour and a half for the flight while the police and flight attendants checked the cabin.
A Ryanair spokesman said: "A flight from Manchester to Ibiza was diverted to Toulouse after a small group of passengers became disruptive. The crew called the police who detained the offenders in Toulouse before the flight continued to Ibiza. We sincerely apologise to passengers for any inconvenience this may have caused. The matter is now being dealt with by the local police."
Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary recently said that restrictions on alcohol sales at airports should be introduced to prevent similar incidents.
