Hennessey to release the world's most powerful supercar with a manual transmission (13 photos + 1 video)
American tuning studio Hennessey has distinguished itself again, having appropriated the title of developer of the world's most powerful serial supercar with a manual transmission. This is a variation on the theme of the already famous Venom F5 roadster, but it was not limited to a simple replacement of the transmission. The new product can only be called serial conditionally, but this does not stop buyers - all the cars planned for assembly have already been disassembled. Only 12 of these monsters will be made at a price of 2.65 million dollars.
The Hennessey Venom F5 roadster is equipped with an engine specially developed for this model with its own name Fury. This is a 6.6-liter V8, tuned to 1842 hp. s. and 1617 Nm. Usually the engine is aggregated with a 7-speed robot, but on the F5-M version it was replaced with a 6-speed manual gearbox from the Italian company CIMA.
The Italians and Americans, as reported, have done a lot of work on synchronizing the engine and gearbox. Hennessey, for example, has included protection against overheating in low gears in the power unit. It will not be possible to turn the engine to the maximum, for example, in first gear. This was done for the sake of a smoother start of the super-powerful supercar.
The carbon monocoque had to be modified for the new transmission and its components, and the shape of the central tunnel had to be changed. A kind of hump was formed in the console area - a pedestal for the gearbox lever, which, as Hennessey claims, was designed and manufactured with special care. The appearance of the new selector forced a slight change in the configuration of the front panel.
The exterior of the roadster has also been improved. In addition to the redesigned air intakes, the supercar received a longitudinal 1.4-meter fin at the rear, which will act as a stabilizer. An original livery has also been developed for the Venom F5-M, although the buyer of the car will be able to choose from hundreds of other body design options.
The dynamic characteristics of the three-pedal supercar have not yet been announced, although a regular roadster can accelerate to 100 km/ h in about 2.5 seconds with a maximum speed of over 480 km/ h. Most likely, the figures will be announced later, after the completion of road tests of production cars. They should appear only in 2025. The total circulation of the Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster will not exceed three dozen cars, including 12 copies of the F5-M version.
