In Iran, doctors removed 452 metal objects from a patient's stomach (2 photos)
Their total weight is almost 3 kg.
A local resident sought medical attention due to chronic stomach pain and frequent vomiting, which prevented him from eating or drinking. Doctors took an X-ray and discovered a large accumulation of metal objects in the patient's stomach, which prevented the body from functioning normally. According to doctors, the man had been swallowing metal objects for at least three months.
As a result, the patient underwent surgery, during which all foreign objects were removed through an incision in the stomach. Among them were, for example, screws, nuts, nails, keys and stones.
After the surgery, the man quickly recovered, but three days later he was diagnosed with psychosis - a mental condition in which a person loses touch with reality.
What exactly led to the development of this disorder is not specified, but doctors said that the man had a "strong addiction to opium." He is currently undergoing treatment in a psychiatric clinic.
